About this venue
Go Ape Matfen is an outdoor adventure centre that runs multi-level treetop rope courses through a mature forest canopy. Venue highlights: The site pairs a multi-level high-ropes challenge with four dedicated axe-throwing lanes that can be booked together for a combined activity day. The outdoor setting includes a timber activity lodge and free on-site parking for organised groups. Catering options can be arranged to cover halal, kosher, vegan and gluten-free requirements. Best for: Corporate team-building, group day outings and family activity days suit the site's activity format. Location: Matfen sits on a rural Northumberland estate; the surrounding countryside gives organisers space to stagger arrivals and continue socialising outdoors after sessions. What guests say: The instructional team provides thorough, hands-on safety briefings and steady on-course support during private group bookings. The axe-throwing sessions include structured coaching and small achievement tokens on completion.
