About this venue
Archie's Lab (also known as Archie's Secret Disco) is a hidden speakeasy-style room concealed behind a fake bookcase inside Colonel Porter's Emporium on Dean Street in Newcastle upon Tyne. The space pays homage to Archie Jones, the chief chemist who collaborated with Master Brewer Colonel James Herbert Porter in 1927 to formulate Newcastle Brown Ale.
