About this venue
For over 16 years, theCUT has stood as a cornerstone of Newcastle's underground electronic music scene — fiercely independent, unapologetically authentic, and committed to quality music culture. Located above Tup Tup Palace on St Nicholas' Street, the venue offers an intimate, raw, stripped-back, high-energy setting inspired by Berlin squat parties and New York loft parties. With a main space holding 400 people and an adjoining 100-capacity Loja SkyBar, the venue is built around a Funktion-One sound system. It hosts forward-thinking programming ranging from underground electronic music, house, techno, and DJs to long-running indie, rock, post-punk, and alternative club nights.
