I’m an underground DJ rooted in Brighton’s LGBTQ+ music scene, and my sets run on instinct. I play a record because it sounds right in this room, for these people, and what comes next depends on how the room reacts. That might mean rolling UK garage tipping into broken beats, a hard house curveball, a stretch of acid techno, or a trance riff arriving just when nobody expects it. My sound keeps evolving because I keep crossing between genres, but the attitude behind it stays. It can be playful, a bit bratty, and not remotely precious about where one style ends and another begins. My standout moment so far was closing Girlflix. It was the first time I’d played to a crowd of 350 people - big for me, and the first time I’d closed, and I finished on breakbeats and bass with the whole room pumped. It felt incredible, and it’s the feeling I chase every time I play. I’ve also played Dykes On Decks, Butch Please, Just Keep Moving, X Tapes and Worthing Festival, and I’m happiest at grassroots nights where crowd is the whole point.
