Details
Originating from Newcastle upon Tyne, Knats are a jazz fusion outfit formed by bassist Stan Woodward and drummer King David-Ike Elechi alongside trumpeter Ferg Kilsby. Dubbed Geordie Jazz, their distinct sound weaves classic fusion arrangements with high-energy drum and bass rhythms, electronic elements, and punk intensity. Following their debut release, the group garnered critical praise and earned a nomination for the Mercury Prize for their album A Great Day in Newcastle.
